Our story

MDR founder Mark Roeder’s journey in construction began as a teenager, working as a general labourer for his father's company in the Waterloo, Ontario area. During this formative period, he gained invaluable skills in renovations and developed a strong work ethic rooted in honesty and dedication.

Over eight years, Mark collaborated with Jenner Design Studio and Mary-Beth Jenner, further honing his expertise. While renovating his own home in Toronto’s Leslieville neighbourhood, he garnered significant interest from passersby, leading to the establishment of MDR Design+Build Inc.

In partnership with his wife Emily, MDR specializes in creating unique, bespoke designs that accommodate a range of budgets and aspirations. At the heart of MDR are Mark and Emily’s commitment to fostering strong relationships and prioritizing open communication, ensuring the creation of beautiful, functional spaces.

When they are not focused on client satisfaction, Mark and Emily enjoy spending quality time with their two young sons at their home in Caledon, Ontario.
